A reception and guided tour of Her Stories Untold, the exhibition curated by our Director of Visual Art, Virginia Damtsa, and presented in partnership with The Circle, the global feminist organisation co-founded by Annie Lennox.
After two months, the exhibition now comes to a close, and this evening marks the final opportunity to see the works in place. Intimately staged within the elegant setting of the Salon, the exhibition brings together thirty artworks by nine international artists. Through portraiture, textiles, photography, sculpture, and painting, they explore visibility, memory, resilience, and the many ways women have shaped culture, history, and society.
The evening opens with a guided tour led by Virginia Damtsa, who will speak about the works and the profound stories shaping the collection. Complimentary drinks follow, and the conversation continues through the room.

CAROLINA MAZZOLARI Embroidered textile and mixed-media works exploring emotional mapping, femininity and the body.
ABE ODEDINA Celebrated for his vibrant portraits of beautiful and strong African women, Odedina’s paintings draw on Yoruba mythology, Afro-Brazilian spirituality and folk traditions. His work celebrates female power, dignity and visibility, offering a radiant testament to womanhood and self-determination.
BONOLO KAVULA Reimagines printmaking through thread and punched Shweshwe fabric as a form of abstraction. Blending print, painting, design and sculpture, she builds rhythmic, layered compositions from repeated fabric fragments delicately joined by hand. While formally precise, her materials carry personal and collective histories, with Shweshwe fabric evoking memory, labour and Southern Africa’s cultural heritage.
CONRAD SHAWCROSS Presenting a smaller version of his monumental steel sculpture Paradigm, a 14-metre-high structure installed outside the Francis Crick Institute. Paradigm symbolises ambition, risk and the pursuit of knowledge, its ascending, geometric form reflecting the boldness and resilience at the heart of Her Stories Untold.
JONATHAN YEO Featuring his celebrated portrait of Malala Yousafzai, a universal symbol of courage, education and female empowerment.
REBECCA FONTAINE-WOLF Photo-digital paintings exploring the female body, identity and transformation.
RICHARD WATHEN Enigmatic portraiture that evokes ambiguity, inner psychology and timelessness.
WEN WU Chinese, London-based painter known for her luminous portraits of women portrayed with books, knowledge, empowerment and introspection.
POPPY DE HAVILLAND A rising young artist whose work brings a fresh contemporary voice into the dialogue.
Together, these artists create a multi-layered conversation about the many faces of womanhood including: power, memory, struggle, imagination, visibility and legacy.
