The Nerve is a fearless, female-founded independent media title covering culture, politics and technology. It was created by five former Guardian and Observer journalists, including members of the team behind the 2018 Cambridge Analytica investigation that changed global understanding of Silicon Valley.
Journalist-owned and funded by members, The Nerve keeps its work open rather than behind a paywall. Its twice-weekly journalism is supported by events and a growing contributor network that includes Adjoa Andoh, Brian Eno, Misan Harriman, Michael Sheen and Rebecca Solnit.
Vision Festival is a three-day collision of culture, science, ideas and live performance across King’s Cross, presented by Town Hall by Bottaccio. The Nerve’s place in it is a natural fit: a young, independent title that grew out of a community of members, landing in a festival built by a community of neighbours. Hosting the publication’s first birthday at Vision Festival puts serious journalism somewhere it rarely goes — a Sunday morning in King’s Cross, with room to argue, ask questions and stay for coffee afterwards.
