Some brains chase novelty by nature. Yet in a world built to exploit that instinct, many of us spend our days fighting FOMO and struggling to focus on what really matters.
Join neuroscientist Dr Anne-Laure Le Cunff for an evening exploring how to remain open to the possibilities of an exploratory life without being driven to distraction. Together, we will examine the origins of curiosity, what we misunderstand about procrastination, and whether it is helpful to think of conditions such as ADHD as superpowers.
Acclaimed artist and writer Tim Etchells and experimental violinist and composer Angharad Davies will bring science, philosophy, conversation and live performance together.
Expect spirited discussion, captivating artistic interventions and the opportunity to continue the conversation over drinks before and after the event.

The Sophia Club is a programme of cultural events in London, New York and Melbourne built around the idea of Live Philosophy. Each evening combines spirited conversation between guest speakers and a host with performances by musicians and other artists, creating a warm setting in which audiences can explore the big questions of life together.
The programme is presented by Aeon Media, publisher of Aeon and Psyche magazines, and brings philosophy out of the academy and into a lively shared experience.
Sophia Club brings philosophy into dialogue with science, art and performance at Town Hall. Part of Vision Festival — three days in September drawing the neighbourhood’s institutions, venues and communities into one programme, presented by Town Hall and shaped with founding partners across the area — Sophia Club takes the big questions out of the seminar room and puts them in front of an audience, where thinkers, scientists and artists argue them out in the open.
