Join YAAD and Afribond in The Salon for YAAD’s first Pitch Night, where creative and media founders less than 12 months into their journey pitch to a panel and get honest feedback on the spot.
The panel is Parminder Vir OBE, Tony Hyland MBE, Nanna S S. and Marcus Gibbs, CAIA. Pitchers don’t need a five-year plan or even a business yet. Early ideas, tech projects in creative and media, and first-time pitchers are all welcome, as long as they bring a deck.
Audience tickets include complimentary Caribbean bites from MamaKys Soul Food and a welcome drink from Windrush 1027. Founders who want to pitch can apply through the event page.
YAAD, from the Jamaican Patois term of endearment for home, is a makerspace, co-working hub and members’ club for underrepresented makers, creatives and founders aged 25 and over. After a summer of free events across London’s creative spaces, it is working towards a permanent home in West London and is running a Black History Month clubhouse in Hammersmith this October. The Pitch Night brings that community to Town Hall, with community collaborators Caribbean Tech Collective, HoaQ and Hi Spirits Wine Club.
