Join How To Academy at The Salon for an evening with Dr Kevin Fong, one of the UK’s leading major incident and emergency planners, on how to make good decisions when nobody can be sure what happens next.
Kevin has spent his working life in high-risk teams, flying as a Helicopter Emergency Medical Service doctor, working with NASA’s human spaceflight programme and responding to major incidents and terror attacks in the UK. He draws on those emergencies to show how teams succeed against the odds, learn from failure and go again, and why good decisions depend on the systems built around the people making them.
Kevin is the author of Minute Six. This is an evening for anyone who leads a team or has to make big calls without all the facts.
How To Academy runs public talks, debates and conferences in London with some of the world’s most influential writers, scientists and thinkers, from Yuval Noah Harari to Natalie Portman. In November 2025 it brought Slavoj Žižek to Town Hall twice in one weekend, first with philosopher of physics Emily Adlam and then in conversation with Alex O’Connor. This autumn it returns with a run of evening talks in The Salon, from Dr Kevin Fong in October to Timothy Garton Ash and Paul Mason in November.
